SHANG - CHI
The Leyend Of The Ten Rings

Category: Opening Titles
Role: Houdini FX Lead / Simulation Designer
Client: Marvel Studios
Studio: Perception

Marvel Studios approached Perception to design the main end title sequence for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Collaborating with the team, I contributed to creating and designing most of the simulations for the sequence. Film director Destin Daniel Cretton emphasized the importance of capturing the emotional and impactful moments of the film.

These moments were enhanced with intricate water simulations, symbolizing the energy and movement of martial arts. I was responsible for designing how each movement interacted with animated characters that mirrored the choreography of the film. Water served as the foundation for the visual design, emphasizing fluid, natural forms while highlighting the elegance of Kung Fu. My role involved crafting functional yet visually captivating simulations that enhanced each shot.
