NFL´s Super Bowl animation

February 7, 2021 Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Florida, 6:30 p.m local time. Some of the most dominant athletes that the earth has ever witnessed prepare to compete in what will be the LV Super Bowl, amongst them is Patrick Mahomes representing the Chiefs and Tom Brady from the Buccaneers, as well as a carefully selected genetically gifted and specially talented group of humans.

The NFL's Super Bowl is frequently the most watched American television broadcast of the year as well as the second most watched annual sporting event in the world behind the Champions League. The Super Bowl is also the second-largest day for American food consumption, after Thanksgiving Day. The Super Bowl was created in 1966 as a consequence of a merger between the NFL and the American Football League to have their best team compete for a championship. The winning teams are awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named after the devoted coach who won the first two Super Bowls.

Due to the high audience, commercial airtime during the Super Bowl broadcast is the most expensive of the year. Commercial viewership has become an integral part of the game as leading companies develop their most expensive advertisements for this broadcast, finely crafted by the most talented visual art professionals. NFL's 2021 Super Bowl attracted 96.4 million viewers. It hosted the smallest attendance in Super Bowl history – 25,000 people – as well as 30,000 cutouts. According to CBS even though the overall viewership totals were a disappointment, the company's stream averaged 5.7 million viewers per minute.

RMA Design was contacted by Imaginary Forces to collaborate in creating the main logo animation. The animation consisted of colorful beams of light shimmering through a black background, then the NFL logo intrusively erupts into screen and positioned itself in front of the beams of light, ultimately overcasting most of the light and the remaining beams shine through the logo. The project lasted for one month, and the end result was a tailored made piece for the NFL, and millions of viewers around the world. A happy customer is a returning customer.

The RMA team continues to provide vital input in the animation industry as it continues to collaborate through an array of 3D projects. Its team force as well as the robust render farm with top of the line machines continues to grow, positioning RMA as one of the most relevant up and coming companies in the industry.
